Action for Agriculture Producers

Because the effort from the government to manage the farm crisis was so feeble, MP Inky Mark and his Canadian Alliance colleges took it upon themselves to conduct a much more thorough examination of the issue. The project was dubbed Action for Struggling Agriculture Producers (ASAP), and consisted of 70 meetings in five provinces, with input from over 3,500 farmers. This included two meetings within the Dauphin-Swan River constituency on December 8, 1999, in Shoal Lake and in Dauphin.
